It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Buchanan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bullard Knights and snuck past 7-6. That's more bragging rights for Buchanan, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Kadence Nulick made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. Nulick has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Nulick was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Nulick wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Oehlschlaeger, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Buchanan's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6-1. As for Bullard, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7.
