Recap: Caravel Buccaneers vs. St. Georges Tech Hawks
On Thursday, the Caravel Buccaneers faced the St. Georges Tech Hawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Caravel took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Georges Tech. Caravel's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Leading St. Georges Tech to victory were David Crawford and Kionne Lang. Crawford scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Lang dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lang scored 15 or more points. Blair Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Caravel dropped their record down to 9-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Georges Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Caravel will head out on the road to face off against Milford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Caravel is ranked 15th, while Milford is ranked 32nd). As for St. Georges Tech, they will be playing at home against Hodgson Vo-Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. St. Georges Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Hodgson Vo-Tech likes a good challenge.
