Baseball Recap: Anthem Prep's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Anthem Prep owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Antelope Rams. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jaxon MacHugh made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Starr, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Aidan Wherley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Anthem Prep's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Antelope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Anthem Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 26-3 victory against Valley Lutheran on the 19th. As for Antelope, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-3 loss against Salome on the 16th.
