Softball Recap: Big Sky Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Big Sky won the last time they faced Capital and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles blew past the Bruins 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Big Sky got a massive performance out of Sadie McGuinn, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. McGuinn has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Hayden Weaver was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Big Sky lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Big Sky is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Capital, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Big Sky is set to square off against their familiar foe Helena at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.9, the Bengals 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Capital will challenge rival Butte at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
