Football Game Preview: Forest Park Foresters vs. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs

Forest Park is 0-4 against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech since October of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Foresters will challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Forest Park comes in on four and Mergenthaler Vo-Tech on six.

Forest Park lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Patterson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Foresters really took it to the Clippers for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-0 victory. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Foresters had established a 32-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Mergenthaler Vo-Tech faced Dunbar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Poets by a score of 20-12. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Poets on their field since September 7, 2019.

Forest Park's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mergenthaler Vo-Tech, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-1.

Forest Park ended up a good deal behind Mergenthaler Vo-Tech in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, losing 40-26. Can the Foresters avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
