Softball Recap: Luverne Comes Up Short

Luverne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-5 to the Pipestone Arrows. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Luverne's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pipestone, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Luverne and Pipestone could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Luverne will take on Fairmont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (98 vs. 20). Meanwhile, Pipestone (ranked 44th) will meet Jackson County Central (ranked sixth) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
