Volleyball Recap: Berlin Starts Season with Win on the Road

Berlin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the East Hartford Hornets with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Redcoats in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Berlin's got stronger as the match went on, holding East Hartford to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 25-13.

Kaley Alkas paced Berlin's offense, picking up ten kills. Alkas got some help from Mya Lamoureux and her 12 assists. Alkas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berlin will face off against Tolland at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for East Hartford, they will challenge Plainville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
