Basketball Recap: Empowering Others Prep Takes a Loss

Empowering Others Prep lost against BigTyme Prep Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Empowering Others Prep Kings were beaten by the BigTyme Prep Academy Bears 68-33. The matchup marked the Kings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Zion Ibekwe, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 24 points for BigTyme Prep Academy. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ibekwe has scored at least a third of BigTyme Prep Academy's points. Zvon King was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Empowering Others Prep's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-17. As for BigTyme Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Empowering Others Prep nor BigTyme Prep Academy have any future games scheduled.
