Basketball Recap: Coeur Du Christ Academy Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Coeur du Christ Academy won the last time they faced Clark Fork, and Ben Connelly did his part to make sure it happened again. The Coeur du Christ Academy Saints came out on top against the Clark Fork Wampus Cats by a score of 69-57 on Friday thanks in part to Connelly, who almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine rebounds. The match was his 12th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Clemens, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 20 points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.

Several Wampus Cats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Howard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards. Another player making a difference was Mateo Cruz, who went 8 for 18 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Coeur du Christ Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Clark Fork, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coeur du Christ Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 91-81 victory against Kootenai on the 24th. Clark Fork has also already played their next match, a 73-60 defeat against Genesis Prep Academy on the 21st.
