Football Game Preview: Davenport Broncos vs. Lake Gibson Braves

The Davenport Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Lake Gibson Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davenport is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Davenport's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They strolled past Lake Minneola with points to spare, taking the game 19-0.

Meanwhile, Lake Gibson played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of Haines City. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Hornets are ranked 29th).

Davenport pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.7 points over those games. As for Lake Gibson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Davenport beat Lake Gibson 19-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
