Basketball Game Preview: Eastwood Troopers vs. Eastlake Falcons

The Eastwood Troopers will head out to square off against the Eastlake Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastwood will be strutting in after a victory while Eastlake will be coming in after a defeat.

Eastwood is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Socorro: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Eastwood blew Socorro out of the water with a 66-37 final score. Given the Troopers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 996th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eastlake was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 31-30 to Montwood.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Eastwood, they pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Eastwood against Eastlake in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 68-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
