Basketball Game Preview: Stagg Delta Kings vs. Weston Ranch Cougars

Stagg hasn't had much luck against Weston Ranch recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stagg Delta Kings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Weston Ranch Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Stagg turned things around against Franklin on Wednesday. They took down the Yellowjackets 55-40.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weston Ranch). They blew past McNair 83-42 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Weston Ranch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Stagg, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-17.

Stagg took a serious blow against Weston Ranch in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 107-37. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stagg was down 66-21.
