It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mountainside can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oregon City Pioneers by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Mavericks' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jojo Appling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Mountainside's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Oregon City, they pushed their record up to 13-14 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Mountainside nor the Pioneers have any future games scheduled.
