Baseball Recap: Creighton Prep Comes Up Short on the Road Against Staley

Creighton Prep had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Staley Falcons by a score of 6-5. The Junior Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cal Anthony made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam Smithberg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Staley pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Staley beat Creighton Prep by a score of 10-2 later that day.
