Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayley Spriggle and Eliana Mcclain Lead Bunker Hill to Victory

Bunker Hill hadn't done well against St. Stephens recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bears came out on top against the Indians by a score of 45-38. The win was just business as usual for the Bears, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Leading Bunker Hill to victory were Eliana McClain and Hayley Spriggle. McClain dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten steals, while Spriggle posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. What's more, McClain racked up seven boards, the most she's had since back in January.

Bunker Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Bunker Hill's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for St. Stephens, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Bunker Hill will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hickory at 6:00 p.m. The matchup will give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for St. Stephens, they will take on Bandys at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
