Volleyball Recap: Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders vs. Christian Family Academy Fire

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christian Family Academy Fire. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fire this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Tuesday.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Christian Family Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-9, 24-26, 23-25, 15-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Family Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Harrelson, who had 12 aces and five kills. Those 12 aces gave Harrelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubri Smith, who had eight aces.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Christian Family Academy, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

As of now, neither Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy nor the Fire have any future games scheduled.
