Baseball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview was the 13-6 winner over Community Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals on Monday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cooper Flowers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Devyn Anderson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 22-15. As for Community Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-6.

While Plainview had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
