Softball Recap: Chagrin Falls Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Chagrin Falls's offense. They came up short against the Gilmour Academy Lancers on Thursday, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chagrin Falls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Eickhoff, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Eickhoff has hit this season.

Chagrin Falls has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Gilmour Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chagrin Falls will venture away from home to take on Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gilmour Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
