Hughson extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They came out on top against the Linden Lions by a score of 28-21. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
A big part of Hughson's victory came down to the chemistry between Hudson Baldwin and his top target Lawson Aviles. Baldwin threw for 77 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes while Aviles rushed for 51 yards. An impressive showing, but Aviles really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made six total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.
As for Linden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2. They gained 66 more yards on the day, but it was Hughson that made the best use of them.
Despite the loss, Linden still got an impressive performance from Andrew Juarez, who rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores. DeAndre Smith also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
Hughson has already played their next contest, a 31-28 win against Ripon on the 19th. As for Linden, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 55-0 victory against Millennium on the 19th.
