Volleyball Recap: Oglesby Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Oglesby had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bynum Bulldogs on Tuesday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Oglesby had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.

Caitlyn Battreal paced Oglesby's offense, picking up eight kills. Battreal got some help from Scarlet Aaron and her 13 assists. Maddi Smith and Autumn Meyers kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.

Oglesby will square off against Harmony Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bynum, they will challenge Mart at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st.
