Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Graham-Kapowsin hadn't done well against Puyallup recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Graham-Kapowsin came out on top against Puyallup by a score of 7-4. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 14-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Macee Matison, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton McCulloch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Graham-Kapowsin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was the third in a row for Graham-Kapowsin, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Puyallup, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Graham-Kapowsin is set to face off against their familiar foe Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Graham-Kapowsin 4, Rogers 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Puyallup will square off against rival Emerald Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
