Football Recap: Hanford Falls to Kennedy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Hanford unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They and the Kennedy Thunderbirds were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Bullpups suffered a 29-28 defeat. The Bullpups gained 218 more yards on the day, but it was the Thunderbirds that made the best use of them.

Rajhon Newton and Ryan Smith certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Newton gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns, while Smith rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Among those leading the charge was Jamison Membreve, who rushed for 80 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Looking ahead, Hanford will challenge Sanger at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennedy, they will take on Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
