Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for New Milford

New Milford won the last time they faced Notre Dame Prep and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Green Wave put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 14-3 victory. The contest marked the Green Wave's most dominant win of the season so far.

Nick Allen looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, New Milford got a massive performance out of Nolan Bell, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Sebastian Ramery was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

New Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

New Milford pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Milford will square off against Kolbe-Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will face off against New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
