Basketball Recap: Immokalee Comes Up Short

Immokalee scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They were outmatched by the Golden Gate Titans and fell 56-29. The Indians were probably out for revenge after losing 35-16 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Immokalee saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kristina St Val posted 15 points. Brianna Muhammad was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Immokalee is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Golden Gate, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Immokalee will host Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gulf Coast will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Immokalee surely won't give up without a fight. As for Golden Gate, they will challenge Lely at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden Gate is facing Lely at the right time seeing as Lely is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
