Soccer Game Preview: Timnath vs. Wellington + How To Watch

The Timnath Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Wellington Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timnath is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Timnath will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Saturday, then bounced right back against Roosevelt on Thursday. The Cubs never let the Roughriders get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Given Timnath's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Roosevelt are ranked 145th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Timnath's offense was hitting Roosevelt from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Seb Chavarria led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 3-3 at halftime, Wellington was not quite DSST: Cedar's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Wellington's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Timnath has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-0-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matchups. As for Wellington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Timnath took their win against Wellington when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
