Softball Game Preview: Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals vs. Central Lyon Lions

The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals will head out to face off against the Central Lyon Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union will be strutting in after a victory while Central Lyon will be coming in after a loss.

Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating South O'Brien, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Royals never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for the Royals, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Central Lyon's offense. They came up short against Unity Christian on Friday, falling 10-0. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Central Lyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything went Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union's way against Central Lyon when the teams last played back in July of 2024, as Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union made off with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
