Softball Recap: Soddy Daisy Has No Trouble Against Graves County

After only one run in their last match, Soddy Daisy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Graves County on Saturday. Soddy Daisy was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Graves County. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Izzy Webb spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Skylar Gooden was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilyana Blaylock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Soddy Daisy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Graves County only posted an OBP of .238.

Soddy Daisy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Graves County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
