Basketball Recap: St. Dominic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sacopee Valley last Thursday, St. Dominic came back down to earth. The St. Dominic Saints took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Abram Roadrunners on Saturday. The game marked the Saints' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Dominic fell to 5-1. As for Mount Abram, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waynflete at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Mount Abram and Mount View will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Mount Abram knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Mount View likes a good challenge.
