McDowell won the last time they faced Meadville and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans took down the Bulldogs 65-47. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 231st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meadville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jacoby Thompson, who threw for 246 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only nine carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards. 131 of Thompson's passing yards were hauled in by Tymir Phillips, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

The victory made it two in a row for McDowell and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Meadville, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will square off against Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Meadville, they will face off against Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
