Baseball Recap: Mountain View Beats Carbondale Area for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Mountain View came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Carbondale Area Chargers by a score of 11-7. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.

Jordan Jagger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Jagger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ziggy Bradford was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played. Jackson Gesford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mountain View's record is now 8-6. As for Carbondale Area, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
