Monocacy Valley - Chesapeake recap Oct. 30, 2012

Westminster extended the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Chesapeake this week by beating Leonardtown, 56-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Owls.

Westminster took down the Raiders 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. DERYK KERN threw for 353 yards and seven touchdowns in the win.

Brad Wilson's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground STERLING DAVIS chipped in 23 yards. DARIUS CLIFTON helped Westminster's passing attack out by catching four balls for 89 yards.

DAN JOHNSON was the best wideout in the league this week as the Owls beat Leonardtown. JOHNSON racked up four receptions for 101 yards.

Westminster's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Owls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. KERN has thrown for 2824 yards and 49 touchdowns this season, while GARRETT BEAN has 41 catches for 841 yards. JOHNSON leads the league in rushing with 372 yards.

Winters Mill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,712 from 7,646. The improvement came about via a 36-14 victory over Liberty last week.
