Baseball Recap: Platte County Comes Up Short

If Platte County was feeling good fresh off their 15-6 takedown of Fort Osage on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell just short of the Truman Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Platte County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Truman, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13.

Coming up, Platte County will venture away from home to face off against Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Truman, they will square off against Park Hill South at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
