Basketball Recap: St. Francis de Sales Comes Up Short

St. Francis de Sales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the De La Salle Meteors. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Meteors are ranked 86th).

St. Francis de Sales' defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for De La Salle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis de Sales will challenge Montini Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for De La Salle, they will face off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Saint Ignatius College Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
