Basketball Recap: Olympia Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Olympia walked away with it. They blew past the Freedom Patriots 75-54 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans who have now won three contests in a row.

Olympia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nicholas Blake led the charge by going 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. Jamison Blake also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebounds of the season.

Olympia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Freedom's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shaun Fonoti, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points and six boards, and Riccardo Palombarini, who went 5 of 12 en route to 11 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Fonoti a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Juniel Santana, who posted five points and four steals.

Olympia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

Olympia has already played their next game, a 62-61 win against Oak Ridge on the 5th. Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
