Football Recap: South Windsor Skates Past Avon with Ease

South Windsor got themselves on the board against Avon on Saturday, but Avon never followed suit. They breezed past the Falcons to the tune of 42-0. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Ryan Faux was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 64 yards and two scores, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Faux was just one part of a punishing run game: South Windsor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 277 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

South Windsor's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Avon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Windsor will welcome Simsbury at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Avon, they will take on Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Falcons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
