Frederick is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loveland Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Frederick has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 152 points over their last three matchups.
On Friday, Frederick took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-6 win over Thornton. With the Golden Eagles ahead 47-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Frederick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Kissinger led the charge by throwing for 220 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 12-for-12 passing, while also rushing for 34 yards. The dominant performance also gave Kissinger a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Sonny Delpizzo was another key player, gaining 126 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Frederick was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
Frederick's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Marllow McCoy was especially locked on to Thornton's QB and sacked him twice. The game marked McCoy's first with multiple sacks this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Loveland and Thompson Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Wolves were just a hair shy of victory last Friday and fell 10-9 to the Eagles. The Red Wolves haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All came from Vincent Wimmer: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points.
Frederick now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Loveland, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Frederick against Loveland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-7 victory. In that contest, the Golden Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
