Basketball Game Preview: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions

The Southwest DeKalb Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Southwest DeKalb is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Buford just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since February 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 70-61 to Tucker.

St. Pius X Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Southwest DeKalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-2.

Southwest DeKalb didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Pius X Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest DeKalb since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
