Baseball Recap: Yosemite Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Yosemite nor Mariposa County made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Badgers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Grizzlies. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Brady Olson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.

Olson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was John Dudley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Dudley has posted since back in April of 2025.

The victory got Yosemite back to even at 1-1. As for Mariposa County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Yosemite will face off against Madera South at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mariposa County will be paying especially close attention to the Badgers' contest: after the Badgers face off against the Stallions, they'll take on Mariposa County again at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
