Softball Recap: Del Rio Comes Up Short

Del Rio fell victim to Eagle Pass and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.

Del Rio saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devyn Casillas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Del Rio and nudges their season record down to 8-21. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-8 Medina Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 79.2% over those games). As for Eagle Pass, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Del Rio does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eagle Pass, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Medina Valley on the 17th.
