Amherst County has gone 9-1 against Liberty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Amherst County fell victim to Jefferson Forest and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 10-0. The Lancers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Liberty also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Staunton River on Thursday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Minutemen were not able to get on the board.

Liberty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Armstrong, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Liberty dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Amherst County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
