Softball Game Preview: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns

The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Agua Dulce Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Skidmore-Tynan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Agua Dulce's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Skidmore-Tynan took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kenedy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Lions on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, Agua Dulce hadn't done well against Port Aransas recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Marlins. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Marlins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Emily Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Audrey Luera was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Skidmore-Tynan's record is now 22-4. As for Agua Dulce, their record now sits at 6-9.

Skidmore-Tynan skirted past Agua Dulce 11-9 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
