North Central and White River Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Thunderbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Loogootee hit North Central with a five-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Lions, falling 9-1. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, White River Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-1 to Eastern Greene.

White River Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Moore, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. TJ Dorozynski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for White River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

North Central took their win against White River Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
