Michael Pung posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He struck out five batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Pung's strong effort led Shepherd over Harrison and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bluejays are a perfect 7-0 against the Hornets going back to April of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
