Soccer Game Preview: Western Alamance vs. Williams

The Western Alamance Warriors will take on the Williams Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Western Alamance had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Cummings on Monday. The Warriors never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Edwin Anguiano was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Williams' match on Monday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over Eastern Alamance. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Williams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Eastern Alamance are ranked 439th).

Williams pushed their record up to 8-3-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four contests. As for Western Alamance, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.

Western Alamance was able to grind out a solid win over Williams in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
