Basketball Game Preview: Lowry Buckaroos vs. Fernley Vaqueros

Lowry hasn't had much luck against Fernley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lowry Buckaroos will head out to challenge the Fernley Vaqueros at 7:30 p.m. Lowry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

On Friday, Lowry needed a bit of extra time to put away Churchill County. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over the Greenwave. The win was some much needed relief for the Buckaroos as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lowry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Jimenez, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Byron Jimenez, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Fernley faced Spring Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Fernley managed a 47-43 victory over Spring Creek. The win was nothing new for the Vaqueros as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lowry's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Fernley, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Lowry came up short against Fernley when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-54. Can Lowry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
