It's playoff time, and Southwest had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Angleton Wildcats a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Southwest might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Angleton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alfredo Plascencia (2), Caleb Barajas (2), and Cesar Angel.

The victory (which was Southwest's sixth in a row) raised their record to 25-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six contests. As for Angleton, they moved to 16-4-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Southwest will take on Walnut Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Grove's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Southwest's offense will have their work cut out for them. Angleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
