League recap: Trenton climbs in state rankings

Trenton moved up to 124 from 153 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A District 6. The Tigers were able to move up by beating Lafayette 50-21.

Trenton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Hornets, 50-21. The win marks eighth in a row for the Andrew Thomas' team.

Austin Ritchey was a passing and rushing force as Bell fell to Hamilton County. Ritchey's key target this week was Bruce Thomas, who caught 2 passes for 34 yards.

Ritchey was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 177 yards on 39 carries as the Bulldogs bested Lafayette. Justin Terry also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.

6-foot-3 quarterback Bryce Jenkins of Hilliard is the league leader in passing yards this season with 935. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cheevers. The Trenton star has 21 catches for 402 yards.

Trenton's Melvin Adams is a mere 55 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 106 carries Adams has accumulated 945 yard this year.

The Tigers took down Joey Pearson's team 50-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Adams ran for 130 yards during the win.
