Football Game Preview: Tarboro Vikings vs. East Bladen Eagles

Two dominant backs in Kamerin McDowell-Moore and Jaden Lewis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Tarboro Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the East Bladen Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Tarboro will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Tarboro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 47-12 victory over Hobbton. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Antonio Draughn, Jr and Caiden Everette. Draughn, Jr rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries while Everette rushed for 60 yards and one score. Everette didn't just play on offense: he also defended one pass and snagged an interception.

Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 466 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in 24 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, East Bladen didn't have too much trouble with Manteo on Friday as they won 38-21.

Tarboro's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for East Bladen, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Tarboro was able to grind out a solid win over East Bladen in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 20-13. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
