Basketball Recap: Johansen Find Success

Escalon came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Johansen, but Ivan Martinez wouldn't allow it. The Johansen Vikings came out on top against the Escalon Cougars by a score of 63-54 on Friday thanks in part to Martinez, who posted 29 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game.

Johansen's record now sits at 9-3. As for Escalon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Johansen and Ripon Christian will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Ripon Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Johansen likes a good challenge. As for Escalon, they and Riverbank will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Escalon is facing Riverbank at the right time seeing as Riverbank is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
