Mariner had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Bonita Springs on Tuesday. The Tritons put the hurt on the Bullsharks with a sharp 14-3 win. The Tritons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Gabi Winters made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Morgan Tucker was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Calleigh Buzard was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Mariner was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonita Springs only posted a batting average of .263.

The victory (which was Mariner's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Bonita Springs, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Mariner will welcome Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tritons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Bonita Springs, they will head out on the road to take on Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sharks will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bullsharks surely won't give up without a fight.
